The whole Democratic party is just… done. They really F’d it all up for the rest of us. Remember, SCOTUS handed them complete power months before Biden left office and they did nothing. They sold us out. They also cater to the rich and never make substantial changes that benefit the American people. I highly recommend John Stewarts latest podcast, where he interviews someone who really gets it. We need politicians who do what they say they will do, not “whatever the people want… today.” The racists bigots in the Repugnican party only respond to power. We need a powerful leader, not a bunch of weak, insider-stock traders.

Such hate for the mildly imperfect.

The time for comments like that was shortly before the general, cuz she’s a literal angel in contrast to the shitstain traitor Donald Trump.

A short list of other things that look like a literal angel in contrast to Donald Trump:

        • A half-eaten ham sandwich

        • A biopsy from Biden’s ass cancer

        • A plastic bag full of my toenail clippings

        • That splotch on the floor of a public restroom that you’re not sure if it’s blood, poop, or a mix of both

        • Hit that subscribe button for more examples of things wildly more qualified to govern than Donald Trump!

The general election is over, and it is no longer necessary to defend the contents of that list, to include Kamala Harris. If, during the 2028 election, we’re in 11th hour of a race between her and another amalgamation of Adolf Hitler and the contents of a colostomy pouch, by all means talk her up to the best of your ability. At this time however, there’s nothing to lose for calling her out on being a piece of genocidal trash.

They don’t want the needle moving to the left. So she was just shy of absolute perfection and was failed by the villainous electorate.

In 2028, it will be very bizarre to see Kamala Harris running for president again with the support of Sam Altman and on the other side the Republican candidate with the support of Peter Thiel.

Yeah. I put all my chips on her cuz I had no choice. I beat the drums and shouted the rallying cries. But she’s not what America needs. Her sparse discussions on policy and dismissal of the most vulnerable and impressionable voting demographics do not paint a rosy picture of what would happen should she be handed the keys in 2026.

She was the least liked in the 2020 primary. I cringed when Biden picked her for VP and when he picked Merrick Garland for Attorney General. All around shit choices.

I agree, but her anti-immigration policies go directly against the spirit of California. I’d rather see someone up there with better sensibilities for their constituents, especially in times like these.

I found it fascinating that right wingers labeled her simultaneously both, easy on crime and a hawk

Oh I know, but that is a republican label for the left they pull out of their bag. I remember her when she was major of San Francisco, lived there at the time, another neo-liberal politician. CA is a breeding ground for them.

I really like Porter. I’ve seen leftists label her a liberal, but her time in Washington showed that she cares about the working class, so even if she’s more of a centrist than a lot of us would like, she’s still an improvement.

She’s progressive. She a leftist in my eyes. She’s definitely not aligned with the neolibs. Also, she reminds me of Phyllis from The Office.

I actually agree. I’ve always considered her to be a progressive (or at least what’s considered progressive in the United States), but the last time I brought her up on Lemmy I got jumped on and told she’s a liberal.

I love those clips of her when she was grilling CEOs as member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. She has fantastic “get to the point and don’t fuck around” energy which is desperately needed in US politics.

Considering the past couple elections she’s probably as left as we’re gonna get here in California, barring a charismatic young mamdani like figure coming out of nowhere.

I don’t hate her but I don’t want her in any political position. She should go be the ceo of a non-profit or something
