Not sure why this is someone “famous”. He clearly needs help with serious mental health issues. I’m always surprised to hear that he has such a big followers base.
We’re living in an age where entertainers mirror their audience. They aren’t about escape from reality or ideals to dream of. They are about wallowing in reality. They excuse the sorry condition their audience is in. Frankly, I think they occupy a brain space that used to be occupied by having friends. We have all had stupid friends we sit around and do stupid shit with, right? Well, not anymore. Now you just watch this idiot on your phone. It’s depressing as hell.
twitch is the mainstream version of kick, kick is where all the degens go if they cant make it on twitch. twitch needs to enforce a games only content. because alot of the twitch streamers are switching to grifting off politics.
I was never a watcher of any Twitch things until I found Brutalmoose, whose retro/oldschool tendencies and relaxed demeanor made him a very lovely person to put on in the background of my partner and myself working. Otherwise, I know next to nothing of the popular peeps other than they seem to like shouting and being part of drama, both of which are a huge turnoff to me.
because, we are so overwhelmed with obvious fake bullshit 24/7, that anything “real” is a breath of fresh air.
Asmongold is some random hoarder whose claim to fame is playing fucking WoW, he also used his newfound status to take care of his ailing mother and now father.
this is why more people tune in to watch any given asmongold stream than they do fucking…jimmy kimmel, who only has a show because he knew someone and they couldnt find anyone else with less edge.
Not that I’m a huge Kimmel fan but the man worked his way up in broadcasting from college radio station and being a radio host through the 80s and 90s before getting a TV show. I wouldn’t call ~25 years of work before landing a TV host gig “just knowing someone”
I watched some of his early stuff and he had some decent takes. Then he went off the walls and I just stopped watching, was not hard form we since I watched him so in frequently
He was a huge WOW player and on his decline he hopped to FFXIV. Now I was a FFXIV player for years and loved the recognition. So his followers just ballooned because he hired a hit squad and went after the harder stuff in end game. He left that game but kept the followers. He was funny at times. But I can see why his popularity grew within video games. He’s a solid streamer on that front.

This is depressingly accurate.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Twitch is a demented world I’m glad I was never a part of.
Honestly it’s fine if you’re watching smaller streamers. The huge ones is where it gets weird.
Twitch tryna compete with kick.com by pushing degenerates
Maybe make that kick.com a link to how bad shit really was.

right now is the hasan incident, dont you people know hes using the dog incident to distract from his political mishaps fro being called out.
Representation matters. All the gross 4chan incels see themselves in him and feel validated.
Right wing people like him.
he has made comments supporting trump quite a few times.

well…he sure didn’t get it for being funny
I got whiplash from that comment.
And because ganers are gross losers
gamers?
some are for sure, but i see why…this is a fucked up world we’ve created for ourselves and games offer an easy accessible escape from reality.
That guy who posited that “everyone in America is 12 years old” was probably right.
I watched some of his early stuff and he had some decent takes. Then he went off the walls and I just stopped watching, was not hard form we since I watched him so in frequently
He’s the pan handler performing for an audience the same as him without the fame.

I watched him for a bit when he hopped on FFXIV, but then he had some misogynistic takes that made me see how awful he really was.
I didn’t see that part. I just watched him go after the coils of Bahamut.
he got famous for being a “BUM” streamer.
Soon, they’ll be old enough to vote… As if that’s gonna be a thing by then.
Twitch and Twitter have some overlap. Probably people from Twitter typed “Twi” and were suggested Twitch and vice versa.
