There is going to be an open rift between the US military and government very soon, I’m calling it. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to a full-on civil war

How is it gonna be a civil war if the military is not on the governments side? I mean i have seen the stuff the us police and ICE gets, but neither would have the numbers or the tactical knowledge to win from the effing military. If the military would try and overthrow the president, I can’t imagine FBI and CIA would try and stop them.

Might turn out like in Turkey though, were nothing really happened except 100,000 people getting convicted of treason or fired from their job.

Legal Eagle laid it out in a recent video. The administration has been blatantly ignoring (I think several at this point) SCOTUS restraining orders. If they continue to disregard the judiciary, I don’t think it’s all that unlikely that parts of the military arrest Trump and his administration, in what’s effectively a military coup. Trump is deeply unpopular among the military top brass, and they tend to still value the constitution. But who knows who will side with whom, the military is by no means a monolith

They also value their paychecks, and have to consider a lot more than just whether or not they dislike him. The first magat that is given an order against trump is likely to shoot them, and will be able to claim he was just following the principle of not following unlawful orders, AND that he was following the law by trying to then place them under arrest, they resisted, and had to be shot in the scuffle.

Military schisms are tough bitches to handle. I’d say that it is extremely unlikely, as in won’t happen unless trump decides to go to war with canada and europe and china and russia and india at the same time, that the military does anything.
