These read like anime titles.
No, they read like light novel titles. Lately, light novels have been getting adapted into anime about as much as manga. Manga-first and anime-first works will have much shorter titles. This is due to there being absurd levels of competition in the light novel space for the last seven or eight (I think) years, so authors need to use titles that double as a short blurb; there are so many books coming out each month that potential readers don’t have time to read the full blurbs for even a fraction of the books, so you need a very descriptive title to hook potential readers.

People underestimate the influence a single person can have on history. Without Hitler, there would have been no Nazi Germany. Without Trump, the Nazi movement in the US will fall apart. They’re certainly not going away but without a Führer they’ll just be a bunch of bickering factions. And none of the other fuckers will be able to rally their base the way Trump did.
There might very well still have been something else bad. The discontent was there, if hitler hadn’t been the one to utilize it, it could’ve been someone else. Same with trump. There’s still a good chance that whoever would win the power struggle if the orange suddenly croaked had none of the apparent charisma of trump (not that I think he has any but it clearly works on a lot of people). Fascism is a personality cult, and just replacing that isn’t a given, but the initial rise heavily selects for someone who is able to create one. So if not them, it’d likely have been someone else maybe a little later.
Germany might have ended up with some different form of fascism without Hitler. But I doubt things would have turned out quite as badly. Which is pure speculation, of course. Also, there may be another fascist leader after Trump. But again, I doubt he’ll have the same kind of following.

A lot of folks don’t really think about it. A man could be gone, but his ideas and legacy will live on. We are short term thinking and instinctive animals prone to collective suicide.
I have to say Trump is a fairly unique distillation of every aspect of American society that Americans don’t like to admit they have. He has plenty of vain, self-serving sycophants under him that could take his place, but I will say there are very few who have the same mix of incompetence, shamelessness and charisma draw for a certain populace.
It will be difficult for someone else to do, because Trump also didn’t actually do anything himself to become the representative of the idiots. Remembering how surprised he was to win in 2016, it only happened because the idiots didn’t want to vote for a woman. He basically tripped and fell into the role.
It’s difficult to tell if the MAGA crowd will silently retreat to not voting again, or if they’ll agree on some random celebrity again, but I don’t think anyone can put themselves in that kind of position of representing people who hates having a representative at all.

Really like the concept of modern technology interacting with feudal realms able to use magic, so GATE scratched that itch really well.

It was fun to watch, but got old fast with pretty much every problem being solved by superior technology and firepower. Power fantasies are only compelling when the protagonists problems aren’t solved by their strength, like with One-Punch Man

To be honest, it was my brain off show for a while so the simple solution of “better technology more better” was enough.

That’s why I never touched it; the whole thing sounds like boring neocolonial milprop. If it’s essentially a modern army vs. a medieval country with flying lizards, how is it any different from when the USA go shit all over a third world nation and then give themselves an award for being such great warriors?
My expectations may be colored by growing up in an age where RTSes were a thing but wouldn’t a more balanced fantasy adversary lead to more interesting scenarios?
Like trying to do counterintelligence against someone who can use clairvoyance to listen in on your meetings. Or stopping saboteurs with access to invisibility spells. Or the fantasy guys figuring out how to do magical EMPs, taking your telecommunications and modern vehicles out of commission so you have to use message carriers and jury-rig technicals out of vintage cars.
I dunno, kinda sounds more interesting to me than the “modern military equipment is superior to a medieval army” that everyone always describes the show as.

Apparently the LN’s effectively turn into that. The anime got too boring before that point and didn’t get a 3rd season. Also I think the author went to prison for several years for tax evasion
