Due to the blame being on a “Jessica”, it could be seen as a “woman bad” joke, which is a favourite of certain straight men. It’s basically a variant of the classic “women take too long to get ready” trope.
So they saw this and assumed the made up animals gender and then made assumptions about the joke based on their assumptions and then decided to get upset about it. got it.

Way to assume the sexual reproductive habits of this magic animal with a fantastic ass. How do you know they aren’t like those lizards that are all just clones of their mothers? Or what if they don’t have a gender and only need a mate like slugs? Or what if I ran out of examples? Had you considered that?!
