I set the rightmost button to make the trackball a scrollwheel. I now have vertical and horizontal scrolling!
I never figured out the sensitivity thing, so I only have lightspeed scrolling.

Not a vertical mouse:
I have a Ploopy mouse (specifically the thumb). It has different enough way of using it that I haven’t suffered wrist strain since.
Everything is open source and all physical parts are 3D printed. I’ve replaced 1 broken part twice so far.
A trackball mouse does take some time getting used to, and never quite achieves the accuracy of a regular mouse.

Have you seen typst? It looks to be similar to LaTeX, but based on markdown.

I’m sorry. I was angry with the current decisions, and haven’t been as careful as usual with verifying my sources.
I still believe that nothing good will come of this, but I cannot prove that nationality will have anything to do with it.
I have deleted my own comments, and will be more careful next time to avoid spreading rumor and misinformation.

I can only assume that message is because the FP 5 is not compatible with VoIP (not strictly related to the 3G cutoff). If so, that means it is actually unable to call emergency services, and is therefore unable to be used safely in Australia.
The emergency services in Australia have recently switched to VoIP only, and want to eliminate the risk of someone using a non VoIP capable phone as their only phone. This appears to be a general safety issue, not specifically targeted at Fairphone.
The FP 6 does support VoIP, so it should have no issues.

I have a fairphone 6 in Australia with no issues.
Can you elaborate?
A brief explanation of just how bad that one guy was for the country.

Zulip is great for text based communities, but doesn’t have built in voice or video.

How long until “please stop killing innocent people” is also considered hate speech.

Just wait a few weeks. It’ll happen.

UpScrolled looks like a promising alternative.
“When did Rage Against the Machine become political?”

They tried to claim Renee Good was the aggressor and the ICE agent who murdered her was the victim.
They have no problem stating the opposite of eyewitness accounts, physical evidence, and video evidence.

Just a regular heat pump, but bending metals instead of compressing gasses. Same principle though.

I recently used AI to make a plugin using a programming language I’ve never used before.
When working on similar projects in the past, I get to the end with a new understanding of the language and its capabilities.
This time, I think it took about 10% longer, was no easier overall (although each step seemed easier to start), and I feel like I still have basically no understanding of the language or its features.
If I were to start over, I’d still have to start learning from the beginning. AI has saved me no time at all, and the plugin still has plenty of subtle bugs I need to remove by hand.
What features are you looking for?
Individual cat sensor, remote locking, open detection?
