Conclusion: Linux wins
Genshin does run on Linux though?
Now I have to move to FreeBSD…
Go to Haiku. Maximum incompatibility but still with a slither of daily usefulness.
not always though AFAIK
ok but what if my ps5 runs Linux
Ps5 is based on FreeBSD, unless you’ve literally jailbroken it and replaced the OS with linux
yes, the latter
The latter has recently been made possible if you have a super old, unupdated PS5 that still has the launch firmware.
Very cool, though there can’t be many of those around :(
Unfortunately, Epic store will soon be available on Linux soon too. Geforce Now already is :(
Geforce Now? More like Geforce Later because i don’t use Nvidia.
But not on FreeBSD!
Now I want to see a Bringus Studios video titled “Gaming on FreeBSD, because Linux now runs Fortnite”.
Don’t give madthumbs ideas
But I still don’t want it
Yeah you do.
Haven’t you heard. Epic games and nvidia really care about all of us so much
They just want our best!
And they’ll take it
League of Legends has official controller support (from I’ve heard). The graph will need to be updated when the game inevitably hits consoles.
I regret to inform you that Linux runs Genshin Impact just fine.
*The game. Just not the launcher.
Day absolutely ruined.
Switching to BSD rn
Instructions unclear, now I’m trapped in a gimp suit
Time to switch to TempleOS I suppose.

You mad man.
I think you mean holy man
I regret to inform you that TempleOS runs your destiny just fine.
Wait, actually?
Read again. Not “runs destiny” (as in the game) but “runs your destiny” (emphasis mine). It’s a joke about faith controlling your fate.
Hopefully they can patch that security flaw soon
Does it count if I run destiny 2 through a VM with passthrough and a bootleg copy of Windows?
How’s that working out for you?
Pretty well during those rare moments where I still play. The GPU I use is unfortunately EOL (GTX 1080 Ti), but it’s nice and smooth. Basically native performance.
Huh I was pretty sure I played apex legends on Linux briefly, years ago.
Yes, they changed the anti cheat on it and explicitly blocked Linux a few years ago
Linux runs Hunt Showdown 1896, what the fuck else do I need?
I have run genshin on both the steam deck and a relatively old laptop running mint.
Neither was without hassles, but it played fine
same
I’m still pissed at what Ubisoft did to Rainbow Six after Raven Shield!
And the Ghost Recon games. Absolutely destroyed.
You can call me names but I am sad that I cannot play the new Skate game.
Git on outta here you… you…skate lover
I started dual booting just to play it. It was disappointing.
Some of them might be able to run just fine in Proton though I haven’t tested any of them. Games that use EAC already run in Linux that way.
