Keep in mind that someone actually has to go sue for that, it’s usually not automatic, unless you do it right in front of a police officer trying to insult some public figure. In front of court it’s weighed against freedom of expression. So there are plenty of examples were the “insult” becomes a “matter of fact”. Like for example the matter of fact that AfD politician Bernd Höcke is a Nazi.

Oh, i’m with you, don’t worry. Just wanted to note that. Yandex has several datacenters, so for a really noticeable drop they’d need to wipe several of them. Though, they might have some more spread around the world…

That’s a bit of a risky thing to do. They need to be careful not to introduce some proprietary code.

They claim it’s “clean room”, so no decompilation involved. I’m just waiting for the lawsuits to arrive, so we may learn how much of that is true. The big ones probably are already checking the code.
