Life lesson: Personal happiness is not the end that justifies all means.
No, the lesson is don’t bring kids into this fucked up world. Minimize the suffering.
Than who’s gonna pay your retirement?
Selfish
Why should a selfish pay for a turtle’s retirement when they’re not even the same species?
That might be, but this is how things work in a society with a poverty problem and no social securities. This is how it has always worked. Except that 200 years ago you also had to account for the high mortality rate of children, so you had 6 kids in stead of 2.
I’m not saying this is how you should do it, I’m saying this is the situation to which we’re returning if we stay this course.
Nobody if you are under the age of like 55. Get ready to work and die on the job
Idk but if we don’t figure it out someone’s going to pay for it. Technology allows us to make way too much excess wealth for these kinds of questions to be serious.
i don’t plan to retire. i plan to disintegrate.
I want to slowly fade into nonexistence
I can handle fast. Not slow.
Way too many people don’t realise this is how it still is today in much of the world.
“Some other sucker” - the future that socialists want
I read this comment as a joke, but yeah. As much as you’d pay to support others, others would be paying to support you. The idea is that society would function like a living organism instead of as a big fuckin contest.
What part of “everyone contributes what they can, and everyone gets what they need” bothers you exactly?
Bonus panel: Birds get to do what they like.
did they just basically redo one of their old ones?
