Tomorrow feels like the start of a new chapter.

Today is 7 months off suboxone. Sleep is better regulated, music is going really well.

I’m half excited half nervous about tomorrow.

I still can’t get over the fact that of all the possible buildings in Melbourne, it’s the one where my mum used to work.

None of this would be possible without the sacrifices that she made, and the hell she endured.

She will always be my hero ❤️

Your mum would be so proud of you mate. You’ve gone through so much crap, and worked your way out of it. That’s really admirable and a testament to your character!!! She lives on through you ❤️

    Fucking hell.

Just found ol’ boy (81) up a ladder checking gutters (about 2m high), base on an incline on wet grass. No tether, not staked.

    Yes I got grumpy.

What is it with people thinking ‘she’ll be right’ on ladders.

Stupid af (esp. at that age).

Seems to be a thing. When my OH’s dad was around the same age he (frail & blind in one eye) did the same thing.

I’m glad your dad is ok & hope he listens to you. Geez they can be stubborn

E: I say that a stubborn person myself (didn’t mean to be ageist)

        Seriously stubborn.

He said ‘don’t tell me what to do’. He’s not frail and in good shape though. I said ‘well I’ll tell you what you won’t be doing if you fall and break your hip… you’ll never play golf again’. He mumbled something and walked away lol.

    It’s my birthday next Sunday.

You know how I know I’m getting older?

Knowing what the weather is seems to matter waaaaaay more than it ever has before.

Bugger there’s a wattle bird that made its way inside.

This might take a while :(

edit hooray it’s free. Threw a towel over it and it calmed the f down.

So my resume now includes 3 mudlarks and 1 wattle bird. Magpie is the only bird with manners who just trots out when it gets in lol.

How are you with possums? We had one wander inside then climb the curtains. I made the mistake of trying to pick it up in a towel, like a cat. Eventually got it outside but I had some interesting tooth-mark bruises for a bit.

One of my fab fave vegetables - the parsnip. Love them. One of my best soups is a grated parsnip simmered in 1 cup good chicken stock till tender, then add a grated golden delicious apple. Add sliced red chilli to serve and if you dare, a half shot of vodka. I call it sunshine soup. Warming, comforting and fresh flavoured and colourful.
