I’m not sure that this was a McConnell-level event. The only place I could find a video with context is here, unfortunately: https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/112471185118697786

It happens only 49 seconds in, so you should be able to stand listening to him from the start of the video. It seems to me like he paused for the background music in his speech (yes, you read that right) and thought it looked dramatic. It didn’t.

Are there examples where he does this same thing in other speeches as he says?

Because it does look super weird at first.

I can’t find it, but there was a speech that started playing music in the background and he started. Trying to. Time it. With the music.

At first I thought someone had hit him with that delayed speech thing that makes it impossible to talk, but he was definitely trying to go with the beat.

Usually he doesn’t pause during that spiel, so I don’t buy it being intentional. It’s normally FEAR FEAR FEAR patter the whole time.

I really, really hate that he’s still enough of a force in our politics that I feel the need to keep aware of him enough to know this.

Oof, can we get a link that’s not from Truth Social? This is the first link I’ve ever seen from there, and it really should be the last.
