Finally we’ll be able to get freedom fries again!
Inb4 the US ends up with Samsung/Huawei style Company Towns, buying everything at the only store with company scrip - but it’s all branded as ‘freedom cities’ and celebrated by Libertarians.
like the liberterian towns, that failed because they though they dont need to pay for any public services.
i.e. Slave Cities.
There’s more of that crazy Curtis Yarvin bullshit.
Also, I encourage people to read The Sovereign Individual, which also seems relevant.
There is some serious irony here since the party of “states rights” (but no, not THOSE rights!) is all-in on Taco directing invasions on states, especially the cities within those states…
This will never get off the ground. It requires government money and cooperation. Two things libertarian chuds hate.
If libertarian chuds control the government, they will happily waste its money to subsidize their project.
They want the government to willingly giving up its sovereignty over the land.
Has that ever happened before, outside of treaties?
Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow?
‘No!’ says the man in Washington, ‘It belongs to the poor.’
‘No!’ says the man in the Vatican, ‘It belongs to God.’
‘No!’ says the man in Moscow, ‘It belongs to everyone.’Pro Tip!
If you start a business and can’t follow basic fucking federal laws, you shouldn’t be allowed to work at a business. Federal laws help fund roads, education, utilities, and protect workers and the environment.
So which one of these do they not want to follow?
And how many gold jets will it take for them to get their way?
The places they are looking for exist, it’s just called another fucking country.
We’re the United (but separated into factions of slave towns and gulags) States of America.
It’s all about bringing in H1B visa workers from Asia, and treating them like slaves - nearly non-existent pay, no benefits, minimal food, no personal freedom of movement, etc.
So, not much different than the average American worker, but they’ll probably create a new classification of workers to make it even worse.
If you’re gonna do it, can you please do it right and make it at the bottom of the ocean?
Remember how they kept on trying to scare people the Democrats wanted to build a 15 minute cities?
This is that exactly but now with more tech Bros and less rules. Let the corporate techno Neo feudalism commence. You will all own nothing and be happy for the privilege of renting it.
Check out The Sovereign Individual.
What’s a 15 minute city? I don’t remember that one.
I believe it’s the concept of a city where every destination you might visit regularly is no more than 15 minutes away, either by foot or public transit. No car infrastructure needed.
How did they manage to spin that as scary? That sounds amazing.
They told people that you’d not be able to leave that area. It was a bollocks scare tactic but it worked and it helped the car industry stimie walkability measures, cycle projects and public transport proposals.
Their base is made up of people who have never entered a city and are convinced that they are literal warzones
It’s a prison, man! They want to take away your FREEDOM!!
That sounds like a great idea for cities that were designed before automobiles existed.
It can be done in cities that were designed for automobiles, it just takes more work.
This seems to be the physical manifestation of the the Wilhoit’s Constant:
“Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition …There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.”
It sounds like these proposed entire cities would protect, but not bind the residents, while those outside would not be protected from the results of the city, but certainly be bound against doing anything about it.
These are the final end states of Curtis Yarvin’s batshit insane technofeudalist ramblings. They are trying to destroy the United States of America and instead of god-kings unilaterally own these feudalist cities.
Isn’t this literally the start of cyberpunk 2077?
I give you… Rapture!
I can’t decide between sweatshop 12 or gulag 6.
Why not both! Please report to Gulag 6 for your weekend shift.
Due to a bureaucratic oversight, you were suppose to report to Sweatshop 12 on the weekend. As this error has been deemed to be your fault by Grok. As Grok has made a determination on this, you have been given even more time to show company/government appreciation.
Remember, a happy worker appreciates their boss.
