There is a comic that goes into this premise called: “Y the last man”. It is an amazing read if you are into comics. It paints an interesting view of what would happen if all men suddenly all died except for one.

Ive heard good things about that comic, less so about the TV series.
A dark comedy take is Creamerie. Definitely recommend.
I vaguely recall the TV show (and that it wasn’t great).
Also, if any of you are old enough to remember the TV show “sliders” there was an episode that dealt with this same general scenario.

I think there were some situations that could have ended like that (reverse harem?), had he not been so well protected. Also I like that the women just largely adapted, because they had to.

Yeah, it could definitely have gone a different way and there were certainly actors pushing for that with various motives.
