Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•You have nothing to lose but your brains
7·12 days agogotcha. What about assets? Im not an accounting person, but we routinely buy tooling for hundreds of thousands of dollars. Raw materials have costs/value associated with them. How would that figure in?

3·2 months agoif you look to Chipotle for this “burrito culture” you talk of you are already lost.
I’m sorry, but it really bugs me that the small domino is a fucking war. While the big domino is depicted here as the AI bubble bursting.
At a minimum, it’s a * poor use of the meme *, but really the priorities are just way out of whack.

Uplifting News@lemmy.world•Guinea worm disease is on the brink of being eradicatedEnglish
40·3 months agowe are seeing a resurgence of New World Screwworms. We eradicated it in the US in 1966, however, we have since seen a resurgence. Basically we used sterile males to make sure no new worms would be born in the US but thats a big border, so we worked with Mexico and other north and Central American countries to push it down past panama. Unfortunately when republicans find out we are spending money fighting disease in other countries, they think why help them? and kill funding. So now we are going to have to spend a shitload more money to defend our wide ass border, rather than a fraction of the cost defending a natural border.
How do kids write? I know I will go back and forth over the same well formed letter to make it look scribbly.
I am very impressed about your directness and take charge attitude. Your approach of bring others in to help you accomplish your goals really speaks of future CEO material to me.

News@lemmy.world•Trump signs bill compelling the Justice Department to release its records on Jeffrey Epstein after months of pushback
16·6 months agoIt bugs me that there is this generic description of ‘files’ and I don’t think I’ve heard discussions of what to expect. Funancial records? Client lists? Blackmail material?
We know big banks helped him by not reporting transactions they were legally required to. If the financial records aren’t released it’s bullshit. Always follow the money. Name and shame those who proffited from him.

Technology@beehaw.org•Elon Musk’s Grokipedia launches with AI-cloned pages from Wikipedia
2·6 months agoyeah, the back end is the scarier part. I don’t think conservapedia actually added that much content, it just copied Wikipedia and edited the parts they cared about. Automating that, while helpful, isn’t that big a deal IMO. Disseminating the resultant bullshit (with a hint of plausibility) is where the nightmares begin.

What are you talking about. the upper can brace against a backward force because it has steps behind him. The lower cant. Plus the lower has to lift their lance upward while the upper needs to lift it less. The high ground has a clear advantage here.

News@lemmy.world•Anti-vaccine activists want to go nationwide after Idaho law passes
25·7 months agoThe act makes it illegal for state and local governments, private businesses, employers, schools, and daycares to require anyone to take a vaccine or receive any other “medical intervention.”
So if I ran a PRIVATE daycare, I couldn’t refuse to accept people who weren’t vaccinated? I knew this was stupid, it always, but I am just blown away by how stupid. The layers of dumb are confusing.

I seem to remember wedge was basically an inclined plane, and a screw was an inclined plane wrapped around an axle. Also a pulley is a specific application of wheel and axle.
