Seems like the kiddos are really leaning into Halloween down here costume-wise. Suppose there’s not much else to do down here at that age lol.
They can have a 4 year old ferrero rocher if they come knocking but they’ll have to split it.

So I woke up at 10:20, didn’t get the kids to care till midday, went to pick up their birthday present bikes that weren’t ready, then couldn’t find the Marathons to switch out the pram tyres. At least I have Monday to myself to try it all again

I sorted out all my make up a, threw out all the old stuff, made room for the new stuff. I have a new eye shadow palette and some palettes I have barely used so Imma wear a different colour every day for fun and see what I like.
today was glitter dark gold brown, I liked it :)
Got another year older today. Counting blessings but also damn life sometimes.
Congrats! Milestones be milestones. Some are good and some could be better. But they are all worthy of attention.

I figure today is a good day to leave the dog outside to ambush the kids walking passed for trick or treating. Give 'em a little scare.
I’ve just shifted the bowl of lollies closer to the neighbours so the dog can’t see people stop.

My dog is cunning. He knows which way they are walking, runs up and waits until they’re parallel and starts barking. Little shit.

I’m having a two-day week after a five-day weekend. I did almost nothing, just went for a ride each day. It was amazing.

Three days spent horizontal in bed, looking to be a fourth at this point. Getting a med cert to at least get an extension on submitting my slides. Hopefully will be fine for Thursday to present. The other option was delay it until December.

Trying to stashbust… start blanket, screw up stitch count and rip out inches of work -_-
Audiobooks to the rescue
A lot of people who start out crocheting forget that stitch at the end and they don’t realise until they’re so far in. I started out making bags and pockets for things like my knitting needles and ipads and stuff because the stitches are easier to count and I could practice patterns and stuff. Fuck counting stitches.
Some people start with granny squares and sew them up into a blanket.
The point is and I’m gonna be harsh here, if you’re dropping stitches on a blanket then you’re probably not ready for a blanket.
I’ve done granny squares but really didn’t want to stitch everything together at the end.
I didn’t forget the stitch at the end, and didn’t drop a stitch.
I’m doing the lemon peel stitch and it turns out while listening to an audiobook I did two DC in a row, which made me finish on a SC when not meant to. I’ve sorted that out now and trying to get the hang of everything again/pay more attention.
But yeah I am definitely still very green with crochet. It’s taking me a minute to get my confidence.
I don’t like sewing pieces together either that’s why I crab stitch them together instead.
Also I found my tension kind of sucked so they were slightly inconsistent sizes… figured I’d do a continuous stitch to try and work on the rhythm
That’s why you start making small stuff first so you can practice tension.
Thankfully it’s just a really small pet blanket. It’s still going to be a test of patience and may or may not get finished
Stayed in bed with one of the boys because he was still asleep and didn’t get up until 10:20
The sky was so beautifully moody on my drive to work this morning, absolutely stunning. I am in such a great mood that I’m already waiting for something to go wrong, lol. But plan on riding the high while I can!
