I’ve bought three versions of NMS over the years due to platform changes and at one point a snapped disc.
Hello Games also has other titles and they’re a small dev team. They’re an example of what game companies could do if they wanted to, rather than strangling the player base with microtransactions.
The only purpose to life is to live it. Beyond that, you have to find the meaning that suits you for yourself.
I don’t struggle with it. When the end finally comes it will bring peace the likes of which I’ve never experienced. Life’s been hard and as I age, my body is breaking down in little annoying ways that add up into a larger annoyance. The only thing I fear about the end is dying in pain.
Thank you. The other one had an emergency vet visit yesterday and I’m waiting nervously for her usual wake up time to see if she’s still alive.
One of my birds died a few months back and I cried in terror for the other one (who is still sick on and off). Up until then I thought all my tears had been burned out by a 15 year family court struggle with my abusive ex.
It’s one I gave myself: I told my adult and nearly adult sons this year that we aren’t doing Xmas anymore because we’re atheist and anti-capitalist and as a holiday it is counter to our beliefs. The kids didn’t care and I’m off the hook from now on. Best Xmas gift ever!
Well, now she knows he’s not worth the trouble of the first date.
We will be comrades in deletion.
I’ve noticed that some posts and comments are appearing in my scrubbed profile once subreddits that were private open back up. And just the posts/comments in those subreddits. I’m keeping my account open until the 30th so I can periodically check back and make sure there isn’t anything else that needs removing.
Are you using Power Delete Suite? You can overwrite comments with an edit before deleting them and it makes things a bit easier than doing it by hand.
I deleted my 7 year old 1 million karma account, at least all the comments and submissions. As subreddits open back up from private more keep trickling in and I’m having to run Power Delete Suite again to get them all. I am waiting until the 30th before full deletion just to make sure I got everything because I don’t want them to profit off my posts and replies in the future.
I will brace myself for the inevitable storm to come.
Speaking as an older person who’s been on the internet since it became a public thing, I don’t think it’s necessarily older folks’ fault. Most of the crappy interactions I had on there were with young “edgelord” male gamers.
I think it’s more nuanced than any one group.
Basically, if you build it they will come refers to the dross, who come in droves once something is a recognizeable “thing” and then we all have to abandon ship for greener pastures and more measured discourse.
I did once because the driver completely ignored my delivery instructions and I called to cancel the tip. They refunded it immediately.
Our building has a problem with theft, which I noted in my instructions, and they left the order in the lobby despite my clear warning to the contrary.
