Ill take well made cold brew over iced coffee, but for some reason the spot near my work has awful cold brew and decent iced. So my semi daily is iced coffee year round.

The other day I was trying to explain to my uncles that living in a hot desert climate drinking ice coffee makes a lot of sense, but they weren’t convinced.

Maybe a point we’re not used to hot weather but there’s a thinking in the UK that hot drinks help trick your body into making a better effort to stay cool. Often attributed to the desert rats of ww2 excuse to drink tea.

Well, the British have it all messed up, I think that only works with hot foods that don’t actually raise your bodies temperature

It feels hot and it affects circulation and stuff. But the physical heating effect is pretty minuscule. If you think about it, a human is more or less like 75kg of water at 36 degrees celsius, if you add 0.25kg of water at 50 degrees celsius (cup of tea) you end up with a body of 75.25kg at 36.05 degrees celsius.

Don’t be gatekeeping iced coffee now, it’s one of the few good things left in the world.

If I like my coffee not only with ice but also sweetened, blended, and topped with whipped cream, does it wrap back around to straight?

      Hehehe yep.

Lived in New England my whole life.

Coffee is a drink best served cold. Preferably also brewed cold.

Or coffee syrup in milk. Now ya know which New England state. Get that with 6 all the way.

Lived in NE my whole life, hot, black coffee only. But I agree, most people here love it. Feel like “coffee” is mostly coffee-milkshake these days.

I’ll always remember what I was doing on 9/11: Drinking ice coffee while watching the news after lunch. Not gay, btw.
