Had WSJ retracted? Has Tesla sued WSJ?

As long as the answers to these questions are “no”, that tells you everything you need to know.

I’m not sure it matters anymore, Tesla is almost finished as a global company anyway, basically it’s like a dead man walking.
They may remain in USA as a minor player, but their glory days are behind them.
European are very unlikely to switch to liking Tesla again, because it’s still an American company. They really can’t compete in China anymore. And their sales are destined to continue to decline in USA despite the protected market.

With Musk the decline is almost certain, as Musk is going ever more crazy, it’s very unlikely he will be able to run even a normal company.
Without Musk they will need a miracle worker, and those are very rare to follow a controversial leader like Musk.

All they need is someone to come in and say “We’re going to get back to just building cars. Good cars that people want to drive, where design and features are not driven by the ego of a single maniac.”

“We are going to let the engineers and programmers do their jobs this time around. Also, we’re going to shut the fuck up about FSD”

No that’s not enough, everybody else is doing that too, and Tesla has a poor reputation to restore.
As it is, the car production by itself is a huge deficit already, only capital gains and selling CO2 tax credits made them not go red. Without that they would have been in the red with a whopping half billion USD for Q1!!!

I wouldn’t hold my breath. This is the same board that approved a ridiculous $46B pay package for Musk 10 months ago.

Amazon denied their “showing tariff value” claim as well. We should start keeping track of attempts to defy Trump and the lightning speed in which they capitulate.

They can deny all they want, but I am sure they have all already thought about this. Not making an official announcement does not mean that this is not an option under consideration.
