Yeah that is pretty surprising. I know other systems are pretty quick to pull over and disengage if you don’t respond to the nags. 7 minutes seems like a pretty long time.
Is it possible to “trick” it? like a tiny touch now and then to keep it from nagging while also not paying attention?

Yes. Just poking the wheel generally will make them quiet. I’ve done it on Volvo. Toyota. Subaru and a Honda.
