The congresswoman who lost the Democratic primary to Abdul El-Sayed is defending her decision to switch her to endorsement to Republican Mike Rogers in the leadup to Tuesday’s election.

Stevens posted Wednesday on X that she didn’t regret the change but that she originally endorsed El-Sayed. She pointed to her strong support for U.S. ally Israel.

    “Flip flop”?

Oh she just “flip flopped”, did she?

I think she betrayed the people who supported her.

“My commitment to seeing brown children mutilated is as strong as ever, stronger even than my loyalty to my own country! My racist ass losing to a brown person has nothing to do with this, I am 100% all in purely for the pleasure of it!” - Haley

The whole “Friends of Foreign Nation” thing for members of Parliament in the UK and their equivalent in the US always looked to me like Treason - I mean, you’re elected to a position of power to represent the people of your country and then you go and in the legislative institutions of you country you’re defending the interests of a different country, openly so even.

I’m only aware of one foreign nation that appears in those organisation names.

No “Friends of Montenegro” that I’m aware of.

Why do we care about what she thinks? She outlived her usefulness days ago.

She outlived her usefulness months ago, when she lost the primary. This was just her last blast, as she desperately gasped for air before finally going down forever.

I actually suspect that her sudden flip helped El-Sayed, by preventing any protest voters who were still allied with her. Just like the Bernie protest voters who refused to vote for Hillary, but were then shocked and dismayed when Trump won. Her coming out and endorsing the republican immediately killed any desire to protest-vote, and ensured that the entire party was allied behind El-Sayed.

I don’t think it was a make-or-break situation. But it definitely contributed to him winning by such a large margin that there’s no room for his opponent to cry for a recount.

Bernie protest voters who refused to vote for Hillary

Did that happen in any real numbers? It always like like a weak Russian psyop to me.
