upwards of 2,500 square-feet with an open-concept floor plan,
Ugh, I hate open floor plans. “Honey, could you be a little more quiet making dinner 40 feet away, I’m trying to watch TV!” “Well, I want to talk to Maureen while I’m cooking!” “Never mind, I’ll watch on my tablet in the bedroom!”
Seems like a trend that people quickly realized was a bad idea.
Especially considering a 4 bedroom in SF is probably going to have an occupancy of at least 8.
then put in a wall or something?
Not a bad idea, but sometimes you also have to rejigger the HVAC.
Open floor plans definitely don’t work well with multiple people. But they are good for hosting and/or if you live by yourself.
Households with at least three to four people that meet “very low” to “low” income requirements may qualify to enter Walnut Creek’s below-market rate homeownership program.
The newly constructed homes are more than 2,000 square-feet in size and have three to four bedrooms. The cost of each home ranges from $262,750 to $377,000, according to the city.
The city’s program is run by the nonprofit Bay Area Affordable Homeownership Alliance in partnership with the Community Housing Development Corporation and Mechanics Bank. The bank will provide additional down payment assistance subsidies and a loan subsidy to qualified buyers.
Newly constructed homes, even.
Noice!
