Like you did above, when you said you were feeling insecure. Perhaps you get more respect from your peers by being intelligent but your value as a person is not in how good you can solve technical problems. :) I mean sure, maybe to the organizations that hire you, you are that value… But thats just your value to the corporation.

One mistake smart people do is connecting their intelligence to their value as humans. Like you did above, when you said you were feeling insecure.
