23,990 AUD - approximately 13,500 EUR or 15,600 USD. I don’t know much about the pricing of cars in Austrialia, but it sounds pretty cheap.

The cheapest fossil fuel cars in Australia are AU$18,000 new, so $24,000 for an EV is very cheap. Until recently the cheapest EVs in Australia were about $40,000.

For comparison, the cheapest base model Toyota Corolla is around AU$31,000 and the Tesla Model 3 starts at AU$54,900.

Comparing BYD with TEMU doesn’t seem like a fair comparison. As far as I know, they score pretty decent in independent tests.
