EV batteries generally have warranties for less than 30% total battery degradation over a life of 8 years and 100,000 miles. Most people drive less than 50 miles on a normal day, so if they get a vehicle that initially has 250 miles of range, after 8 years they will still have 175 miles of range. Thats still over 3x their daily driving needs. That doesn’t necessitate a replacement. Few cars get driven past 300,000 miles before scrapping, so you most likely only need to replace the battery once. And don’t forget that battery costs are constantly going down. The amount of driving needed to offset EV manufacturing is low. A new Tesla Model 3 does less total damage to the environment than a new Toyota Corolla after 13,500 miles.
