        So I had a minute of boredom and looked it up.

        As it turns out, much like I before E, the “sometimes” rule we learned as children is the fucking opposite of truth.

        Y is a consonant when it makes the “yuh” sound in words like yellow and yak.

        It’s literally always a vowel otherwise.
