Almost at the end of Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition

Finished Chapter 13 Act 2.

So Chapter 12 was the original edition ending? What was that ending? Also Chapter 13 seems like a filler, specially Act 2. Hopefully Act 3 is better. Still, good to know what happens next, even though not rhe fan of the direction it took.

As for the side stuff, have done most of things below Level 45, not much above it. Though I am level 60, so most of that should be easy enough, but I want to see the ending first. I probably won’t do the side stuff that requires level above 60, but let’s see.

Played more Marvel’s Midnight Suns. The super hero drama continues. I am focusing more on story missions now than then side missions, but doing them if it catches my eye.

Put a pause on Ghost of Tsushima. Want to finish Marvel Suns before getting back to it.

What about all of you? What have you been playing and/or plan to play?

    What was that ending?

A massive cliffhanger that we had to live with for a decade. 😄

    Hopefully Act 3 is better.

Quick warning that you lose access to the overworld during 13.3, so it’s a good idea to use a separate save.

    Finished Momodora: Moonlit Farewell!

Was almost done with it last week so I don’t have much to add. A short (~6h) but very fun metroidvania.

    Finished Guns of Fury!

Metal Slug meets metroidvania, and it works surprisingly well! The developer really did a good job mixing elements of both games.

It does have some rough edges with the map design and lack of fast travel spots, I spent way too much time running around trying to figure out where I’m supposed to go, but the combat is fun enough to keep it entertaining even during those times.

Playing Ever 17: The Out of Infinity (part of the Ever 17/Never 7 Double Pack)!

I was expecting something more intense given the “trapped in a collapsing underwater theme park” premise, but there’s a surprising amount of downtime in this one. But I’m not complaining since theses moments are being well used to develop the cast.

The mysteries keep growing, and with less than 24h before the park collapses I imagine I’m getting to the meat of the plot. Let’s see if I can get at least my first ending this weekend.

Ahan, thanks for the info. Though I have started to make a separate save before starting any affinity or story mission.

Guns of fury is on wishlist. Glad its a good game.

      Good luck with your park!

I’ve been playing mostly The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. I want to do all the 152 shrines before I go back to finish the main story. I’m at 136, so only a few more to go. I’ve been using the Nintendo Switch App with the navigation to have a look at the map and see where the shrines I’m missing are. They’ve been mostly inside caves so far.

After I’m done with Zelda, I need to decide if I’m getting Cyberpunk or Donkey Kong as my next big game 🤔

It’s also helpful to complete the underworld, since the overworld shrines will be right above the light roots.

Wow, 136 shrines already done, nice!

      How useful is the app?

I vote for DK, since I’ll be getting that too. 😀

        How useful is the app?

I mostly use the Navigation feature. You can choose what you want it to display: Shrines, cave entrances, stone tablets, etc. And it shows the ones you haven’t discovered, so that’s the main thing for me. The feature that tells you where to go like a GPS is not that useful. If there’s a cave entrance close to a shrine, it’s usually going to be in that cave. It does tell you to go to the cave entrance if you activate it too, in case you’re lost.

I vote for DK, since I’ll be getting that too. 😀

I’m not 100% convinced with DK. The Direct made it look awesome, but in my mind I’m relating it too much to my experience with Mario Odyssey. That game was ok, but it didn’t feel so much like a Mario to me. I prefer 3D Land and 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, the Galaxies, and any 2D Mario. It looked really fun, but I didn’t have that much fun myself. I’ve gone back to Wonder and 3D World, but not to Odyssey.

Also Cyberpunk looks amazing and it’s a third party full game on the cart, so I want to support them!

        I’ll need to decide…

Oh, I loved Odyssey, if you didn’t enjoy it too much, going with Cyberpunk might be a better option, if you are an RPG fan it seems to be a must play (though I still haven’t played it myself, but it’s pretty high on my list). You can always come back to DK if you think you’ll enjoy it, after seeing the reviews.

I’m at Dice Tower East, a board game convention! I’ll try to post Sunday with a giant list.

I started Xenoblade Chronicles X Chapter 13, Act 3 the day before the convention.

    Tap for spoiler

I feel like definitive editions love to throw in a whole new world to explore. I’m here for it!

Finished Xenoblade X. I did chapter 9 and then quickly finished maxing all classes and reaching max level. Afterwards, I was laser focused on the story. I initially planned to continue side quests afterwards, I was sitting at just under 50% completion for Mira as a whole, but Chapter 13 was such a let-down, I quit afterwards. I wrote more about the new story in the monthly JRPG thread.

(TL;DR: I preferred not having any answers over the ones we got.)

Now, I’ve just started Star Ocean Second Story R. I’ve only played Divine Force before and weirdly loved it, despite people mostly hating on it. I don’t have any opinion on Second Story R yet.

Hmm… will read your comments after finishing the game, but yeah after playing Act 1 and 2, I don’t have high hopes for the ending.

I haven’t played any Star Ocean game, Second Story R is rated pretty highly, but I am wondering if I should play the first one first. They remade that before Second Story R, and while it isn’t considered bad, it didn’t get the same level of praise.

Back from Too Many Games last weekend. Bit different from the FGC majors I typically attend, but it was right in my backyard so I had no reason not to check it out.

We had a five man Melty Blood Type Lumina bracket. Haven’t touched the game in years, I proooobably should’ve booted up the game at least once to familiarize myself with it, but I managed to fake my way to second with 214B and 236C. Once I was down 0-2 in grand finals, I went Neco Arc just to entertain the crowd.

Splatoon 3, the random pickup I formed ended up getting completely washed. Ow.

Dr. Mario, had a very good run. Format was weird though, round robin bo1 pools that are purely to determine seeding, everyone moves onto the bo5 single elim bracket regardless. They could’ve just done double elim the whole way through and it would’ve been faster (and I wouldn’t have had to miss out on Third Strike…). 3-3 in the round robin, 1-1 in bracket, very close matches, perfectly balanced as all things should be.

Between all of that I was mostly on the rhythm game cabinets grinding Chunithm, Wacca and Maimai. Then I went to Round 1 later this week to get another fix, but I had to lament the fact that Chunithm is offline and missing half the songs, Wacca is still out of order, and they don’t even have Maimai here. :(

Also managed to pick up a CIB copy of Super Puyo Puyo Tsu in fantastic condition for $20. Absolute steal, can’t believe they were practically giving that away.
