1·1 year agoEven fun videos get search traffic from random queries. A video about robots fighting each other will get traffic from people interested in “robots fighting”, “robots wars”, “robowars”, “armored core”, “Gundam series”
When there are ai summaries for informational or navigational queries there will be fewer clicks because Google will pirate listicle sources of “best robots fighting each other articles”. This means they are stealing from older lists and newer videos will not get mentioned in the ai summary.
This is because ai technology can’t judge the quality of a video.
LLMs are doing things like summarizing videos and then using the summaries to answer queries that before would have been a search result with monetization.
Google’s executives are unconcerned about the declinibg incentives to create YouTube videos having been sold on the lie that the future of the internet lies in Ai generated content. In other words robots will make the internet.
Robots which hallucinate constantly.
3·1 year agoThats the scam: they know most Americans support basic voter id requirements and dont read the news. So Americans would tacitly support a national voter ID requirement (which itself violates the constitution) without realizing that it would prevent many women from voting. Voter ID laws are a Trojan horse for rolling back democratic controls on fascism.
They would never lose again if they did roll out a federal voter ID law:
They could at will pass federal laws that disenfranchise anyone who votes against their agenda.
Much less than 1%. Voter Fraud is so rare that it has no impact on elections. However the Republicans have been trying to pass a federal voter ID law (the SAVE act) which creates substantial barriers for married women who changed their last name from voting. The additional barriers will destroy democracy.

Yes and yes. What is crazy to me is that the owners of social media want more than profits. They also have a political agenda and are willing to tip the scales against any politician who opposes their interests or the interests of their major shareholders. Facebook promoted right wing disinformation campaigns against leaders who they disliked such as mark Carney. Their shareholders should be sued into oblivion and their c levels thrown into prison. Yet our legal system forbids this.
Youre probably right about them breaking the rules. They may pull something clearly illegal like appoint temporary members of the state legislature just for the vote. But this is going to be like burning down chernobyl. Texas was already gerrymandered into oblivion.
There are significantly more registered democrats in Texas than Republicans. Proportionately greater than California. The fact that they are dominated by Republicans shows how lacking in democratic values the state is. Sad that they are going to throw away the last remaining bits.
The shareholders, who are not starving by any means, dont mind lower earnings per share as long as their political machinations are being carried out. The world’s largest capital equity firms have all gotten onto the musk bandwagon believing that his vision for the future is good for their funds.
The overvaluation is more designed to fund the schemes of musk, who wants to break the US up into fiefdoms.
That percent gets their information from propaganda networks and those networks are subsidized by russia. Without that malignant influence they’d collapse very rapidly. Yet liberal democracies cant seem to find the political will to shut those networks down. It’s weird how US oligarchs and Russia oligarchs have a lot of overlapping goals. I dont know but didn’t big tobacco become a big food company and it then used its discoveries on addiction to enhance its food products

Red has proven to be the most difficult color to synthesize due to how red colors oxidize or break down in the environment. The natural red colors all fade rapidly which makes them poorly suited for industrial purposes.
It’s why carmine is a godsend because it’s both stable but it breaks down in the environment. It also has an incredibly long history as a food dye and has proven to be safe. Unfortunately it’s derived from insects so it’s regarded as being… gross? Weird how consumers prefer health consequences over bugs
2·1 year agoEverything in recent years has gone sideways. Murdoch initially wanted to build Fox News around Obama but was overruled by Roger Ailes according to reports. Ailes wanted to build conservative propaganda networks whereas Murdoch wanted people watching the news.
Jeff Bezos’s wapo and Murdoch have become allies in exposing the Epstein pedophilia network. And oddly also Walmart. This must have to do with the tariffs and ultimately the economic impact of the tariffs.
Wouldn’t any text editor with a delinter be superior
