  • If I give you a benefit of the doubt then you’re a pacifist. Where you’re going wrong is in believing that everyone else should also be a pacifist.

Even the Green Party would kick you to the curb. You’re a lone wolf that’ll stagnate in neoliberalism like all the other lone wolves. It’s a net negative to engage. Even if you wanted to learn the majority would turn you down because a Trump supporter would be a better prospective student.

Remember: You’ll always be judged by the quality of your questions.

    Good luck.

  • As the other user said, I found them from backpacking for roughly the same reasons.

Subsequently I’ve found them to be extremely convenient whenever I travel. They fit into a vehicle cup holder, will last months with daily use, and are cheap enough that I don’t care much if I lose or abandon them. If I’m flying I can buy them at the destination. They’re lightweight, durable, disposable, and easily replacable across the US.

At home, regular life, I avoid the cost and waste with Nalgene & stainless steel. My oldest Nalgene is thirty years old, my oldest stainless steel a third generation hand-me-down that’s eighty years old. This is the way.

  • You’re choosing ad hominem and red herring over humility and questions. That’s not sustainable.

We recruit for life. Whenever you’re ready we will still be here teaching the same exact lessons we’ve been teaching for millennia.

No rush. It’s not like you’re suffering or the planet is dying. Get around to it whenever.

  • who is more devoted to “order” than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: “I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action”; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man’s freedom…

You’re not fooling anyone. We know exactly who you are.

  • If we humans did not chronically overestimate self and underestimate risk then we’d all choose to kill ourselves. Individuals can be smart. But, when pressured or at scale we’re really fucking stupid.

causing months of distortions and damage

It wasn’t months. It was centuries of upheaval before systems restabilized, double digit human generations.

Sure, the meteror’s impact wouldn’t kill all of humanity. The subsequent choices of the few that remained almost certainly would. We’re fragile, ordinary creatures that just got here and immediately set about killing one another and the planet itself.
