Wait, is it inherently bad for an artist to self-insert? Isn’t that one of the key ways they share their perspective? If there’s some bizarre strawman-ing or self-aggrandizing going on it can problematic but the general idea of an artist self-inserting themselves or their ideas into their work seems fine to me.

This was the discussion on a recent post, which seems to be deleted now, about “AI” art on beer cans in the Mildly Infuriating community.

It’s really upsetting how much art is now seen as AI looking when AI art only looks that way cause it was trained on great art. Anything stylized, slightly sepia, realistically shaded, etc etc, automatically assumed to be AI when some people have trained decades to develop this style themselves, but now it’s just slop style

It sucks that so many art styles just seems AI now even though most likely AI art was trained on them to look that way. I have pictures I printed and laminated years ago for work related things and people have frequently insisted that they are AI… These give me the same vibe

I believe it’s essentially the “Black Lives Matter” /“All Lives Matter” situation. Yes, we are striving for equality, but the movements are worded to highlight those who are most affected/disenfranchised by the status quo.

Woman gets it when she’s talking about the movement that applies specifically to her disenfranchisement, but not when she’s in the “out” group of a rights movement

Maybe I’m somehow lucky but in the year plus that I’ve had mint on my gaming machine with an RTX 3050 I’ve had no issues. Maybe cause I rarely play demanding games? But modded Cyberpunk has been fine as well

I don’t see any sane governments trying to make deals with him going forward. He’s shown that he will just ignore/change any “deals” he makes in all aspects of his life as he sees fit.

I do suspect he’ll go TACO in the end but the fucking chaos in the meantime…
