Is there a decent FOSS alternative to excel? Libre has been my goto for years because I never needed anything more, but just in the last week I have a new client with some more rigorous needs, and I REALLY dont want to bite the buellt on 365

3·18 days agoOddly enough, I’ve had better luck with temu than with aliexpress.
In general they have a lot of the same products, but AE has a much larger selection. However, the AE interface is pure garbage. If you apply a price sort, everything just dissapears. Trying to narrow a search means looking through pages of items, most of which aren’t related to what I seached for. Temu, at least, has a preety good search function, filters, and sorts. Plus temu doesnt have the annoying minimum for free shipping.
I’m not a shill for temu. They are a shitty company with low quality chinese crap. But if all I need is low quality chinese crap, it’s actually the most effective marketplace I’ve found to get it.

12·27 days agoAs a trained musician I do this too. But it also means the “skill” spills over into other situations. If I’m in a restaurant, instead of being able to ignore the hum of background conversations, I will hear (and subconsciosly bounce around focsing on) every side conversation.
It makes listening to things VERY hard

466·27 days agoThis is fairly misleading - the change just allows for market forces to drive production more than regulafions. Its already heading toward EVs, this just means that artificial imposition of quotas dont need to make prices higher for consumers.
Im no fan of the Trump administration, but I actually agree with this move.
Comparing market cap to gdp is a bit like comparing the size of a cars tires to its top speed - they arent completely unrealted, but definitely not a good basis to use.

It was unfair of my prev comment to judge without explaining.
So very shortly after the reddit API fiasco, when a LOT of people migrated to Lemmy…someone noticed the high percentage of “upvotes” on Lemmy comments. They made a post stating “People on Lemmy will upvote anything.” With a pic of Heinz baked beans. It became, at the time, the most upvoted post on all of Lemmy. Hence, Lemmy has always upvoted beans…
Oh man, you are kinda late to the party, but beans are a Lemmy thing ad infinitum
