I found it an interesting read. As a huge RimWorld fan, I can relate to some parts and stare in blank confusion at others.
I’m one of those nano weirdos. I mean, I get why people use vi/vim, but I’m a lazy man who has the nano shortcuts hardwired into my muscle memory. It’s definitely not as full-featured as vim, but it does what I need it to do quickly and easily. If I need to just quickly drop into a file and do a find/replace, takes me maybe 3 seconds.
Also, to share an ancient joke from the dawn of computing: emacs is a great OS, I just hope someone makes a decent text editor for it eventually.

I 100% agree that progressive liberalism doesn’t work, but that doesn’t stop them trying. Center-left capitalists love them as well, because they get to look like the nice guys while keeping the focus away from any serious regulation or reform.

There is a real difference between the two. Others have made the point that CNN doesn’t care, it’s all just scary “THE LEFT” wording to them, but the difference in political theory is the following:
Progressive liberals care about social issues, but not economic ones. They will actually care and move the needle on LGBTQ+ rights, the gender gap, minority rights, etc, but as a liberal they’ll also care about the free market and the wellbeing of corporations.
A social democrat wants to regulate and control the economy for the benefit of people. They aren’t going to go full communist and sieze the means of production, but they will actively oppose economic interests in order to improve the standard of living.
The constant flipflopping between calling him a “progressive liberal” and a “democratic socialist” is annoying. Pick a lane, CNN. He’s one or the other, and from what I’ve heard from him he’s very clearly a democratic socialist.

The GMan has broken containment and is now wandering through our timeline, inserting people into the right points to change the future. I guess this explains the whacky wild ride we’re currently on.
It’s not a specifically Indian issue, it’s generalized. It’s also not intentional, just a result of the way virality works.
Because the clips most likely to go viral are those that agree with stereotypes (fat American, lazy Mexican, drunk Russian, thieving Romanian, etc ad infinitum), those are the ones you see. Then people make more of them because it’s an easy way to get clicks. They’re popular because they reliably cause the same arguments (and thus engagement).
The machine does not care about anything but maximizing eyeballs on their platforms.
I edit PDFs all the time for work. It’s a pain in the ass, but perfectly doable. Trying to prevent people from editing files by making it annoying is not in any way a sane strategy.
My brother had a similar thing, and decided to just start shaving off everything and embracing the baldness. He’s been rockin’ the bald look ever since quite happily.
Not much better at all, tbh. The problems are systemic, not individual. Another Zucc or Thiel would step up.
I had some of that at an extremely early age. Addicted ever since. I still can’t go a day without it without feeling terrible.
Personally I view it the same as giving medicine to a baby. They don’t understand, sometimes you have to make decisions in their best interests.
Key point: in their best interests, not for personal gain.
