*Mufasa Yawn* ok I’m up. Friggin smoke detector maintenance guy is coming “between 7:30am and 9:30am” so I - the idiot who hasn’t learned after all these years - was up and showered before 7:30am knowing full well that he’ll turn up at 9:28am.

Edit: 8:45! Took all of 2 minutes and he’s gone.

His Lordship woke me up at 7am for the sparky to finish wiring the aircon.

The sparky has still not arrived.

Sparky will arrive at 4.30pm. Then not have something he needs to finish the job. Sparky might return before Christmas.

sparky bloody better well not. Unit is installed, there’s already a line there that just needs a 32A breaker on it, line has already been run to external shutoff, he literally just needs to put switches on things and certify

Arrived at 6:30 PM (!), did everything bar hooking up to the switchboard since they had no RCD to finish the job. Will be back tomorrow.

And if those guys are union they need a new goddamn rep.

Plot twist - the power went out at the sparky’s house, his phone went flat and alarm didn’t go off.

(Actual true story from when we were having some electrical work done at our old place…) :|

Ugh. I have to book one of these. The actual tradies are fine, the ‘service’ staff are an overseas nightmare
