Sorry, not correct. 90% don’t associate with “religion”, but to them that means religious orgs. 30% of Chinese people believe in Buddha. Only around 30% are actually Atheist
Wait I thought Buddhism was technically an atheistic religion, with the exception being the more syncretized branch offs? Kinda in the same weird area and Neo-platonic philosophy.
Buddhism is nothing more than an inclusive set of guidelines people can choose to follow to be happier (nirvana), and not an exclusive “religion” reserved for believers. The “Buddha” actually started his life as a spoiled hindu prince, and then got tired of being rich, and starved himself under a tree to find true enlightenment.
