This is fine as long as the speakers for the fake vroom vroom noises are in the inside of the car, not the outside. After all, if the drivers want to hear the noises, they can have them all to themselves.

Why? Do Ferrari drivers really need to cycle through sound effects to feel as though they are doing it right?

Probably because it’s fun and you don’t drive a Ferrari just to get to work and do chores.

Most Ferrari drivers are racecar driver wannabes with too much money. Doing vroom-vroom noises is more important to them than actual performances. Ferrari is simply catering to its childish clientele’s desires.

I duno why you need to look down on people who enjoy something? Where’s the harm in having sound effects and manual gearboxes in an EV? If it gets more people into EV’s so much the better?

Because these idiots are the same ones who rev their engines on residential streets to try to impress everyone, and wake everyone up. Better than a normal Ferrari, but would be good to see loud cars disappear

It makes them less efficient. Ferrari is not helping the average person get into an EV. Their price points are well above what’s achievable for most people. Should they be able to? Of course. Is it remotely constructive? No. This is performative marketing for companies struggling to transition from the fossil-fuel culture they’ve nurtured for decades into the electric energy future. They fought it until they saw the writing in the wall, and now they realize they have to convince their indoctrinated consumers to come with them. If they had any integrity, they would revise their motorsport culture to emphasize the advantages of the EVs they’re selling rather than try to camouflage them as cosplay ICE vehicles, but here we are.

            It makes them less efficient

Who cares? Since when have Ferrari’s ever been about efficiency?

Ferrari is not helping the average person get into an EV

So car companies can only implement new features that help the average person get into EV’s? who made you the EV feature police?

They have videos on youtube with millions of views just based on the sound of them:

BEST OF FERRARI SOUNDS 2023! Novitec F12, 812 Competizione, FXX K, KC23, 812 Novitec, Purosangue

Great to see this as the top comment :\

They fought it until they saw the writing in the wall

            What wall?

ANOTHER YEAR OF STRONG PERFORMANCE, ALL 2024 TARGETS EXCEEDED. FURTHER GROWTH IN 2025.

            https://www.ferrari.com/en-EN/corporate/articles/2024-full-year-and-fourth-quarter-financial-results

It’s ferrari, their owners aren’t worried about the oil price, ferrari is about racing passion, status, power, etc not economical ecobility

If they had any integrity, they would revise their motorsport culture to emphasize the advantages of the EVs they’re selling rather than try to camouflage them as cosplay ICE vehicles

The fact they are doing this shows integrity, if they really wanted they could just ignore EV’s all together, they have very little mechanics, they don’t make a noise, the lack of gearbox, they are equivalent to appliances for gear heads (which is perfect for me, the fact I haven’t had to work on my EV at all is nice, I just need an appliance to get me from point a to point b, but regardless)

I just don’t get it, some people like mechanical things, automatic gear shifting was a problem solved 50 years ago but people still like them today, is it possible for you to accept that some people like driving and shifting gears?

I still don’t understand why this concerns you at all, why not get your MG MG4 and be happy?

If you want an EV to make vroom vroom noises make them yourself while you drive like a real man child.
