The rates of colorectal cancer are increasing in young adults. It’s best you start earlier so that problematic polyps and adenomas can be removed before they get worse.
I’ve got a family history of it and probably should get checked early bit haven’t. Here’s to hoping that the article I saw that said THC is toxic to polyps literally saves my ass.
I looked it up and it was in 2022. Apparently it was misreported. The study investigated how advertising for colonoscopies as part of public health programs was effective or not. And it turned out it’s not effective at all. It did not look for how effective the colonoscopies themselves are. I just read this summary:
I’d be very surprised to learn that colonoscopies themselves are useless considering that we know polyps lead to cancer and are cancerous and we are visually identifying and removing them with the good ole rectal camera device.
Also colonoscopies aren’t just used for cancer prevention and are used on IBD to determine the condition of the disease. Basically any time you have a problem with your lower intestine or rectum, they’re a cheap and effective way to find out what’s going on.
You don’t really start to retain memories until after 5 as your brain basically rewires itself at that point. So if you “remember” it (from its debut), you’re probably closer to 40.

I call bullsh*t on that. I have many memories from before age 5, and one from as young as 14 months. I may be a statistical outlier with that last bit, but I can’t believe that our brains don’t save any memories from before we were 5.
Some research does actually support your position that we do actually retain memories from our youth, but more so we forget them as we get older.
Studies have shown that children remember their childhood, and can recall memories from very young. But we seem to forget them as we do into adulthood. It’s not that children are incapable of remembering
Your links actually show mixed opinions on Childhood Amnesia. The second paragraph in the Wikipedia article says children are capable of retaining memories before the age of two, which refutes your claim that we can’t retain them until after 5 years old.
You might want to reread that (or check the actual linked research), it doesn’t say “retain” it says “remember”. It’s referring to recall specifically in children to establish when those memories start to fade or become inaccurate. The studies linked were regarding interviews with those who were still children. For example, the Cleveland & Reese study was interviewing 5½ year olds. The Tustin et al paper provides a better timeline comparison at various age stages.
Land before time came out in 88 that’s only 35 years ago. The CDC reccomends colonoscopies at 45.
It’s close. I must have seen it long after its initial release or while I was very young. But I’m still about a decade off from 45.

Yup. My family has a history of colon polyps, so I had my first screening at 42 and they found a precancerous polyp.

I think you’ve stumbled upon an innovative new way to ingest THC…
So now are we going to get stereotypical comments on big nuggets like big shrooms?
“… Boof it.”
Wasn’t there a recent meta study that showed colonoscopies were basically useless?
I haven’t heard this but that would be an interesting read

Not if you have heavy PTSD! It’s like having a superpower that for some reason makes it difficult to buy bread sometimes.
Feel free to think what you want, but that what the current research suggests.
The Wikipedia page on childhood amnesia actually has some pretty good references on this linked. Humans are also really good at creating and modifying memories to implant new ones or change existing ones.

I can confirm this. Am 41 and I remember it quite clearly.
It might not have been released at exactly the same date in my country as the US release. But it should be close enough.
I remember watching that movie as a child on TV and I’m 25
Ok boomer
Same. Though I guess it could be edited to say “remember seeing it in theatres”. That’d put you at least around 5-7.
That’d make much more sense
Most people don’t remember movies they’ve seen when they were new borns.
Never too early to be touched by and Angel.
