The Las Vegas Sphere might have an impressive spec sheet, but its energy demands are almost as staggering.

Have you ever seen a solar array that gives 28 MW?

Or how about six wind turbines? It’s rather windy in Las Vegas.

I’ve flown over a couple big ones. Not sure of the exactly area or output.

      110MW https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crescent_Dunes_Solar_Energy_Project

      392MW https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivanpah_Solar_Power_Facility

      These are both near Vegas.

Is it bigger or smaller than a football field?

Rough calculation says it needs about 28 ha, this could be about 30 football fields (depending on whatever they mean in your area when they say football :))
