Many exhibitions of ancient Egyptian art have been held in Australia. Pharaoh, at the National Gallery of Victoria, is outstanding for its scope, scale and presentation.
I went to the Sydney Ramses exhibition at the Australian Museum.
I enjoyed it, though full.admission, I’m a bit of a sucker for history stuff. From memory price was about $42, so $38 for this one that has about 3x more artefacts seems reasonable. Expensive to take a family, and I’d reckon kids would get bored anyway.
As with all exhibits, best to try weekdays late afternoon or after hours to avoid crowds.
I still get chills being so close to things created so long ago. The intricate work inscribing entire statues and sarcophagus with hieroglyphics was amazing.
