Iran has very good reason to not like us and Great Britain since the CIA and MI6 staged a coup of their democracy in the name of sweet sweet oil.

I find it strange that this is being announced publicly. Obviously Israel could have been told in private. Is the announcement simply meant to reassure the American public or is there something else to it?
It’s directed at Iran. It basically sends the message “We don’t want to attack, but if you do, we will defend our interests”. This makes it clear that the US is not interested in aggression, but will make any attack on Israel extremely expensive for Iran.
So, basically, supporting aggression, just not directly.
