Fuck rent-seeking profiteers, who use other people’s work to siphon wealth from the general population.

Copyright may have been useful to such leaches in the past, but now it stands in their way - which is why they are asking to ‘water down’ the laws.

I’d say that in most cases copyright is a good thing. There are some examples in which the law has been bent to some unfair end - particularly when ‘special cases’ are made for mega-corporations; but in most cases, copyright is just an automatic protection granted to the person who creates something.
