I thought gambling was supposed to be illegal outside of Nevada? WTF is going on out there?!

lots of states have casinos now and machines in all sorts of establishments. I like legalization of “victimless” crimes but I really want them now to restrict advertisement to “adult” establishments. casinos, bars, strip clubs, etc. I also think they should restrict signage so that you have to be a bit in the know to get what the establishment is.

Victimless crimes? Addiction leaves lots of victims behind. Gambling is addictive. How many people waste all their funds trying to strike it rich and end up destitute and living on the street instead? You almost can’t walk into a bar in the US without a gang of people sitting at the tables buying pull tabs. It’s a bit much, but hey, it helps the owners sell drinks so why not, eh?!

well thats the thing. we certainly do not restrict all addictive things so where do we draw the line. Generally we expect people to handle it, realize it will go on even if made illegal, and that the most effective thing is to provide support and medical help for those who fall. There is a reason when I type it I put it in quotes.
