I was able to donate what my parents were doing over 1.5 years in a single donation that way. I got a couple of big bills to pay this month, but after that and my pay check another big chunk is going. Could I use that money? Sure. But it’s a relatively small amount compared to rent/alimony and still leaves enough for me to be stable. My bigger concern is how long it goes on. I haven’t calculated in increasing expenses.
