Maga/gop/republicans are building reputation that is going to be remebered for generations.

Think of the ww2 vets thats hated nazis and communism until the day they died. Those deep seeded feelings that stem from trauma just dont go away.

These feelings of hate and resentment are going to haunt the gop for at least a generation, maybe more.

That’s what I thought during the Bush years. I thought so again during Trump 1.0.

      Then they forgot.

Trump killed over 1 million Americans through his completely fucked up and politicized Covid response.

Literally there’s more dead Americans from Covid than anywhwre else. AND we’re the 18th highest in deaths per capita despite being so very spread out.

Bush didn’t let everyone’s grandparents die in a pandemic then bail out his corpo friends with an unmonitored 1.7 trillion dollar blank check while the economy was failing.

No one forgot Bush. Trump is the concentrated malignant greed at the heart of how Bush got elected. He is magnitudes worse of a leader in every measurable and conceivable way. He corrupted the GOP from one that publically hated him into one that literally worships him as a king. He literally killed the GOP by converting them to his own MAGA religion, and they let him. So he’s now killing millions through starvation with the death of USAID and SNAP benefits while demolishing the Whitehouse and extorting American corporations for the money to do so.

Bush was no where near this level of fucking insanity.

MAGA is now the face of the GOP. So the GOP is never coming back.

Okay but they still forgot MAGA between 2020 and 2024. The reason MAGA and the GOP won isn’t because they got more people to vote for them, it’s because 8 Million who voted for Biden in 2020 did not vote for Harris in 2024. I really wish this were the same political landscape as the 1960s where we can hold on to our grudges forever, but clearly the advent of propoganda like Fox News, TikTok, X-Twitter, and FaceBook have made it very easy to program people en masse.

Don’t forget a significant chunk of America was happy to let those people die so the well could still go to Applebee’s and not wear masks. They were old and weak, and they were going to die anyway, right?

Many look at Bush fondly because he makes paintings and refused to vote for Trump.

And the dems rolled over again and again and didn’t erect barriers to further destruction so they could appease the “centrists.”

That is some wishful thinking, how many ww2 veterans went home and supported segregation?

hollywood and the US propaganda machine managed to completely whitewash the USA post WW2 if you genuinely believe this.

Segregation is not mass murder. That’s how they could live with themselves. They just didn’t want Those People living next to them. They could be over here. Away from them. They would unironically think they were better than nazis.

As a black person, I’ll say that of the choices, I do think that segregation worked out better for black people. There is simply more POC wealth in historically segregated areas than areas there that’s not true. Turns it, it was actually better to keep racists away from you than letting them torment you while you were trying to establish your community from an even from horrific situation (everything abojt Jim crow and slavery.). I think the battle for integration was a good one, but it was done once there was such a thing as middle class blacks.
