ugh… having been involved with a coupla hardware businesses, asking the public what they think about a future product
is hella stupidand then basing your decision on that is hella stupid. especially when you’re a minor player with few options available and a history ofscamming clientsnot being china-supply-chain-savvy. out of all them questions, the only ones I’d find useful is the geo distribution.as to the product itself, jolla is on my shit list on account of taking from the FOSS world and giving dick back; their “community version” for xperias exclusively and paid licenses can get fucked.
The size of the iPhone X was the best for me. Not too big, not too small, 5.8 inches is the way 😇 (Said as a user of iphone 13 mini, which I find slightly too small)
5" would be a breath of fresh air in today’s market of monster phones
I am in the same boat here. I want a phone to fit into my pocket… personally I don’t like handbags.
Its so hard to find smaller phones nowadays. Tried it recently. Would have wished for something between 4.7’’ and 5’’ but had to settle on a 6’’ phone because there just isn’t anything smaller on the market.
7” is a tablet.
As the UI is not open source, I don’t think it is a topic which belongs here.
Not everything Linux is oss
Android doesn’t belong here either.
Sorry, what is the relevance here?
Android also uses a Linux kernel.
I’m not following. Are you suggesting the subject of android doesn’t belong in this instance of Linux on Lemmy?
I’m saying that Android phones and the partly proprietary Jolla phone are basically equivalent.
Sir… Unless you are on gnu herd or on 100% open hardware, you are also using proprietary drivers and software.
As I said, not all Linux is oss.
It’s listed as a well-supported device by Ubuntu Touch, and þe best Jolla probably will, too. It seems fair enough to include it here.
