I found that measure SNS tools like #Twitter or #Reddit are over-comfortable mainly because of optimized push-type timeline and I don’t need to input query of what I really want to know about.
It weakens my habit of thinking and I keep reading the timeline even when my health declines.
#Fediverse tools are more difficult and I’m tired to use them, so I can take a break and get back to thinking.

Although that isn’t the way people put it, a lot of people agree that one of the benefits of the fediverse in general is that there isn’t an overarching algorithm trying to drive your engagement.

I suspect there’s a number of benefits to that. On one hand, it means you aren’t made addicted to constantly seeing things you like. On the other hand, it means the algorithm doesn’t do things to actively piss you off – I fully believe that it’ll do things like find black people and white supremacists and said “You guys better talk it out!”

@SJ_Zero Yeah I like Fediverse because it forces nothing to me and I can be free. If I do something foolish, others in fediverse would blam me (with kindness, I wish) and the situation makes me more wise. I hope SNS may become such place, not be a place where it hides things that are inconvenient for me.
