Summer is ending up here in the Northern hemisphere, so I’m going with this being in New Zealand, which makes it about $4600 US.

An ad in NZ would be in ºC that “75” looks suspiciously ºF.

We’d also more likely call it a “heat pump” rather than “A/C”.

Though $8000 does sound about right for South Pacific Pesos.

Also, OP said in another comment that it’s US.

As someone who lives in a border county (San Bernardino does border Nevada even if I live closer to Colton than Primm) aren’t you guys on like the edge of having your balls frozen off? Nevada is mostly mountains and highland desert meaning hot as ass summers and cold as shit winters.

Northern Nevada can get pretty frosty. I remember seeing -14f there on a particularly cold morning. I’m in Southern NV now, and it was around 90f yesterday. Overnight lows are barely getting under 70f still. Coldest I’ve ever seen here is around 28f, and I can’t remember the last time it even got to freezing.

Still crazy. Airconditioning is dirt cheap these days - a small bedroom aircon is like 300-400 usd these days.
