Our local paper just ran a piece on EVs — and the Facebook comments are a full-on anti-EV greatest hits album.
Pretty depressing given the extent of the green energy we generate, and it irritates me how pig-ignorant these people are.
The article has a poll — worth a look and maybe a vote to push against the sheep.
It’s facebook. It’s a cesspit.
Of course. But the comments on that particular page are mostly locals, and it’s relatively well moderated.
The people who frequent Facebook are likely:
- Over the age of 60
- Fed a steady diet of Conservative disinformation.
Moderation or not, Facebook is not a space for progressive ideas, because you can’t moderate all of Facebook or the monster that is Mark Zuckerberg.
Why would you go on FB and expect anything less?
EVs are in that precarious position. Driving less or smaller vehicles are clearly much stronger solutions to the general problem. Yet in the US those appear to be fringe views. Except we all kinda know the options still exist. So there’s this aura of dishonesty.
Wow the vitriol is high in those posts. Why are they so angrily against EVs? I’m presuming the media they consume is pushing a strong anti-EV message.
