A lot of this reminds me of the shooting of Pim Fortuyn in NL over two decades ago. He was very charismatic, a born demagogue, and he would’ve taken NL far-right twenty years before they, unfortunately, still went there. But who knows, maybe that shooter saved Europe from an earlier slide into fascism. No telling what ripple effects will still emanate from this entire situation.
