The thing is, had guns been banned before, i wonder if the US would have been as bad as it is today. Of course its not the single sole reason, but still; US gun culture is sick to the point of being terminal
I sometimes wonder too, but that’s not the world we live in. all I know that is that a lot of people won’t get due process if ICE or whatever other government agency comes for them, so we may as well take out some pigs when they do come
I really wonder whether civilians owning guns actually makes a fascist takeover easier or harder.
Like on the one hand yeah civilians could use those guns to fight back.
But on the other hand this gives the fascist party “justification” to just start shooting down opposing gatherings because they could be armed and whatnot.
Furthermore this also means there are civilians who back the fascists and have guns. And this immediately gives me these horrible thoughts of what would happen if a Kristallnacht like in German would happen just with everyone being armed.
Ban all guns, period.
That will solve your problems. It solved all the problems for other countries, it will solve the problem here.
