    Read more grimdark. The real world still seems shit, but you appreciate having all your teeth and a warm bed and not getting stabbed too much

    I primarily read horror, so this doesn’t affect me. I can’t remember a single novel I’ve read, even when it’s from a different genre, where the book world is more desirable than the actual world.

    Bleak stories with substance are soothing.

    I can assure you this happens with movies and series, too. Not that I want to live the crazy shit that goes on in there, but reality afterwards sure seems lame. Having to go back to reality…
