Back in the day, men who shaved would use a cutthroat razor that would last for decades. Eventually, a capitalist started giving safety razors away for free, knowing folks would end up paying much more in the long run when they brought new blades year after year…

    Similar maketing.

Having experience with both, I can tell you that a safety razor is way easier to use than a straight razor, and gets you the same result in half the time.

lol! I stole my father’s straight razor and used it for a while. I never learned how to keep it sharp, so I abandoned it for plastic ones. Currently using an old fashioned, double edged safety razor. The best option imho.

For way cheaper than the big brand razors with 3748484 blades that go dull in 4 shaves

Now safety razors are actually the massive innovation of convenience, accessibility and low cost. While the industry moved onto cramming more and more redundant blades into their proprietary plastic cartridges while charing a 2000% markup.

I don’t know how that analogy extends to phones but I’m not looking forward to that inevitable future.

Also safety razors are recyclable. Those plastic cartridges, since plastics and metals have to be separated, aren’t recyclable.

I like to think that the next generation will go back to desk top computers and landline phones.
